How Presence Became Our Purpose

Project Present began with a simple, powerful realization that human connection can change everything.

What started as one woman bringing laughter, creativity, and presence into spaces often filled with stress and isolation has grown into a nonprofit serving caregivers, older adults, and those navigating dementia with hope, humor, and heart. Founder Ann Marie Mohr saw firsthand how traditional approaches to caregiving often overlooked something essential: the need to feel seen, heard, and connected.

So she started doing things differently.

Using the unexpected tools of improvisation and creative engagement, Project Present began helping people move from frustration to flexibility, from isolation to connection, and from surviving to truly being present with one another.

Today, Project Present offers immersive workshops, caregiver support programs, communication training, and creative experiences designed to reduce stress, build confidence, and bring more laughter and humanity into the dementia journey.

We believe joy still belongs here.

And while our organization has grown, our heart remains the same, helping people stress less, laugh more, and feel a little less alone.
